Walker and Carmeuse Confirm Landfill Proposal Not Proceeding

Walker Industries has officially confirmed that it will no longer pursue any further proposals to develop the Southwestern Ontario landfill. This announcement is the culmination of nine years of community action that resulted in the provincial government granting approval rights to host municipalities as well as those within a 3.5 km radius of the proposed site, and now Walker’s decision to abandon its proposal.

The Town wishes to thank every single person and organization who worked so tirelessly over the past nine years to see this goal accomplished.
