2024 Downtown Parking Study and Strategy
As the Town of Ingersoll continues to grow, the need to undertake the municipality’s first downtown parking
review and strategy has been identified. The purpose of the study is to undertake a comprehensive review of
the Town’s current inventory, identify parking trends and to develop a plan that will ensure that inventory is
managed appropriately to meet stakeholder needs.
This study will address the key issue of how the community wishes to manage its valuable parking assets moving forward, which can be articulated through questions such as:
- Should the Town expand the supply of parking to address peak demands?
- Are there different ways to manage parking demand and/or supply to avoid or defer the need for costly construction of new municipal lots?
- Are there innovate ways to improve the parking experience for visitors, customers, and employees in the downtown areas?
- With all the changes influencing travel behaviour today, what does the future of parking look like, and how do we prepare for it?
Have your Say
The downtown parking study and strategy is intended to be developed with input from the public. Public participation and feedback are an important part of identifying the community’s parking needs in the downtown core.
For more information about public consultation for this project, please see the project updates below.
Come out and share your experiences with parking in Downtown Ingersoll and suggestions on how to improve those experiences.
