The Municipal Conflict of Interest Act requires members of Council and members of Council’s Boards and Committees to declare any direct or indirect pecuniary interest in relation to a matter under consideration. Such declarations are to be made verbally at a meeting and in advance of the item’s consideration and must also be documented via a written statement detailing the interest and the general nature thereof and provided to the Clerk or the Secretary of the Committee or Local Board.
Section 6.1 (1) of the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, further requires every municipality and local board to establish and maintain a public registry of disclosures of pecuniary interests made under the Act.
The table below acts as the Town’s online registry and is updated following each meeting in which a declaration is made.
For further information on pecuniary interests and obligations of members and municipalities please refer to the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.
